I've managed to get hold of a set of electric sports seats for my E39, it currently has manual seats, I've done plenty of googling and searching and discovered that quite a few people have managed to get the electric seats working by running a 30amp supply from near the battery to the seats via a 30amp inline fuse, and running an earth to somewhere near the seat base. (The seats I've aquired are from a 2001 model I think, yellow connector on the seat as opposed to a black connector)

All good and well so far, but I cant find which colour wire on the seat plug takes the supply, and which colour to earth, there are only two thick cables in the electric seat plug, red, and brown, I think brown goes to earth but I'm not sure, could anyone confirm that ?. I have the Bentleys manuals, and I've had a look at the online wiring diagrams, but I just cant get my head around them

I also need to know how to connect the existing airbag/srs wires in, I'm stumped with this and would love to get these seats fitted so any help would be appreciated

You could also look at fuse F13 (30A) connected to the P-Bus and seat motors. I'll get a dayshift member to help you out

The wiring diagrams I have show the positive wire as red/yellow and the earth as brown and they are the largest cross section wires (2.5mm) with the rest 1.5mm. Also I dont see one with a yellow connector.
The fuses used as standard are F13 (30A) for the drivers one and fuse F10 (30A) for the passenger one.
