    Hi, can anyone help !!!!!

I need to check some fuses on my e36 328i. The fuse box has all the numbers printed on the case and descriptions on what fuse goes to what number, but how do you work out the individual numbers to each individual fuse ???

How does the layout work, does anyone have a diagram for this ?

    PLEASE HELP.

    THANKS.....

    Hi Neal, sorted !!

Found a good layout of the fuses through google. Previous owner had different fuses to the ones specified all over the place. Fitted correct fuses, but still had the same problem.

Noticed the other day when on here someone recommended looking at the wires coming from the main car into the boot. Checked it and 2 where split, fixed it and now working, thank god. Got another problem now the bloody ABS and ASC lights coming on now?????

WHAT NEXT ???? Doing my head in, an help would be appreciated. Thanks..

    Hi Spirit,

Thanks for the info, fixed the original problem by re-connecting 2 wires back together from the area where the wires come from the main body to the boot.

But now the ABS and ACS warning lights are coming on ?? What next ???

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks..

Use gringos thread for testing faulty abs sensors and maybe getting the codes read as it could be old fault codes being thrown up.
My guess would be dirty sensor though or a faulty one and check fuses and relays

Is there a certain ECU reader i need to use, as the car is from 1998. My friend has an MOT station, would his connect to the car? I have already checked the fuses ( all fine now ) I will look at the relays today.

    Cheers

Yes I think his would fit as its quite a common problem and most garages have access to BMW software

    Hey spirit,
that's a pretty handy document you found. you don't happen to have one of them for an E36 318i from 1993?
i'm having a couple of problems with the rear right light, rear fog light. checked the fuses today and it's not fuses.
also a couple of new developments tonight, the hi-beam turned on and stayed on even though the hi-beam wasn't switched on and the dash said it wasn't on as well. On top of that there was a few seconds where the dash lights turned of then they flickered then turned of then they stayed on and haven't turned off since.

any help and/or a diagram of the wiring would be a great help as i have a friend who's a mechanic who wants a diagram before he looks at it. (has a problem with bmws lol)
