Just bought a 1998 325 TDS but found that the alarm siren has been ripped out so I can't re-program the fobs yet and the hazards flash every time I open the car.

No probs I thought I'll just get the part number off the siren on my 1999 323 Touring but the wires are different. My 323 siren has 5 wires but this one has six as follows...

    1. Brown
    2. Brown/Red
    3. Black/White
    4. Violet/Grey
    5. Black (in the car this is Brown/Violet)
    6. Red

Looking at ETK there are several different sirens but I don't know which one I need - could someone check if their car has the same wiring and let me know the part number of the siren?

Even better if someone can tell me what the wires do as I can't find anything in the Bentley diagrams! Thanks in advance.

Up to me to solve this one then...

Found a siren with key on a 1995 Coupe at the breakers. Had six wires but two colours were different. Connected them as follows, reset alarm module, reprogrammed fobs - all working now. The part number is 82 11 9 401 509.

    1. Brown
    2. Brown/Red (Orange on the siren wiring)
    3. Black/White
    4. Violet/Grey
    5. Black (Black/Red on the siren wiring)
    6. Red
