Paul, I've done it and it wasn't straightforward. Here is the link to my "how to"

    http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...mputer-t25509/

I'd say it took me best part of a day to sort out. You don't neccessarily need the "hard to find" white plug as another black plug can be adapted to work but you do need lots of the original wiring if you are going to do a good job.

I'd suggest you find an auto electrician, show him the guidance and get him to give you a fixed quote for the job. You might save a few quid by taking the glovebox and instruments out yourself (you don't need to take the steering wheel off).

if you look on the plugs the pins are numbered in the corner of each in tiny little numbers

Hi i wired all the connections up from a 7 button to an 18 button obc as in Billywizz amazing diagram but just 1 question, could anyone tell me on the x1070-black obc plug pin 9(vacant at the moment) its says connect green/blue to pin 4 blue dash plug (x17) not present at either end but i already have a geen/blue connected in pin 4 of the blue dash pug (x17).The question is do i just splice the the new wire from pin 9 black obc plug (x1070) into the blue/green wire that i already have a pin 4 blue dash plug (x17).

    Thanks Paul

Yes, splice it in. My car didn't have this wire at X17 and without it the MPG won't work.
