    hi how easy is it to replace the ignition key
    my lock button now has a hole in it and cant see it lasting much longer
    its for a 1998 e36 318is

    It wont be cheap as it will need programming.

    You can only get them from the dealer as they are pre-programmed to your ECU and pre-cut to your lock - there is no short-cut or work-around that I am aware of.

    Take the V5 In your name) plus some I.D. to the dealer and he will order you one. You can have the ordinary type or the one with the orange light. I got the ordinary one and it cost me £21 inc VAT
