I have a 1998 316i se, a couple of days ago it lost power , I had a mechanic put a diagnostic machine on and it came up with two readings
1/ it was over fueling and 2/ there was not enough power going to the spark plugs.
From this he told me that the coil pack needed replacing and it was over fueling due to this, now I have tried 2 coil packs with no luck, could this point to the ecu being faulty, if so can I just get a second hand one and fit it or does it need to be coded to my car?
    Cheers
