Hi all I'm new to this forum but have read a lot of interesting threads so I had to register myself here

I've just bought the above mentioned car and it has come with a few problems, but the following problems (all interlinked I'm pretty sure) I'll keep to this thread.

When I push the left hand indicator stick down it operates my brake lights instead of the indicators, but the brake lights don't flash as the relay isn't activating, they just stay on as long as the stick is held down, the right hand indicators work fine.
Also when I turn the ignition on to the second position the left hand indicators start flashing on their own as if I'd activated them then to cancel them I just flick the stick up.

Is this going to be a major dodgy wiring fault somewhere?? And does anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Been doing various bits n bobs to the tds this weekend and managed to resolve the dicky indicator/brake light problem. Turns out it was the No.41 fuse in the glove box that had blown, at first glance it looked ok so check it with multimeter and showed no continuity, so I replaced it and it fixed the problem! So if anyone else has this strange problem this seems to have sorted it.
