    It's called common earthing.

It's when the path the electric is supposed to take to earth is a higher resistance than another route.

If it was mine I would clean the affected tail light bulb and holder and check the earth on that light unit as first port of call.
2nd port of call making sure wiring connector is in good order.

    But it's not mine.

Hmmm if I were clueless and it were my car I would take tail light bulbs and holders out one by one until the problem went away to see which one is most likely faulty (if it were a bulb or holder and not the light connector or earth).

    But it's not mine.

Take the whole unit out the car, and check the bottom track on the light unit (As IIRC, you can't see the bottom track with unit in the car).

lol i have checked everything. It does it with the car on or off and its as soon as i turn the right indicator on, with the car turned off indicator stalk on to turn right the front and rear sidelights come on. With the car on indicate right i get my normal indicators along with front/rear sidelights and the obc gives me taillight failure? Think i might have repeated myself but just wanted to make it clear
