Anyone know how the battery light actually works ?
It's NOT driven by voltage !
Sometimes from my alternator, it can be putting out about 11v with no battery light on.... And other times it can put out 11v with the battery light on, and it will slowly fade out when I slowly rev the engine.
And as you come to a junction, and the rev's drop lower and lower, you can see the battery light fade in. But the voltage is still the same.
So I know it's not voltage - So how is it driven ?
EDIT: Oh, and I did learn one thing tonight... The Brake Light circuit on the Check Control will fail at about 10.5v, the ABS and ASC will fail at about 9.5v (Dead battery anyone ? ) and the airbag system will fail at 8.5v-9v
