No its absolutely fine with those colours, it changed early 97 I think but the insides seem to be the same. It does suggest that this thing has some previous though!
What makes you think the alarm is attached to an immob? Is there a serial number at all on the alarm unit, you could try googling it to see if that is the case before paying someone to rip it out.

The alarm is has definately got an immobiliser in it but it's not attached to the EWS, it cuts out the 2nd position of the key. I took the drivers knee panel off and couldn't see where it makes a break in that part of the circuitry.

I now have my Carsoft software working so I can scan the car to see what's at fault on the ZKE module and let you guys know.

Had the car hooked up to CArsoft software the other day and scanned the ZKE module and it came back with these errors:

Any idea where I can find these fuses?

Just to clear this up now as I've fixed it! The wiring for the windows (the main power leads to the window motors) were around the wrong way!? I'm not too sure, I thought maybe that the mechanisms are the same across the saloons/coupes/compacts etc. as I found on a wiring diagram that they are the other way round on the saloons

Anyhoo... I just swapped the pins around in the plug and it's all working tickety-boo! All the windows, remote central locking on the alarm and the windows dropping down 10mm upon opening!
    Living fast, drivin' sideways
