Hi all, first off mr billywhiz, I have read your guide on alarms and it's great, it's whats got me asking this question though.

I have the single button, long thin remote, it has mpt1340 stamped on the back.

The remote, although the rubber button worn, works great, it unlocks every time and locks with total closure every time too, but! ( knew there was a but didn't you?)

When I set the alarm, I hear a clicking from the siren, as if it's trying to beep but not quite strong enough.

Now is this a sign of the battery going in the siren? If so does anyone know what sort of battery it will take and how to change it?

If not, what else could it be?

    Thanks in advance
    Jon

According to the siren, it's a 3t system.

Yes, the siren battery is failing. The info on replacement is at the bottom of the guide.

It says it has a 9.6v back-up battery that can be replaced but no info to where or how, is it inside of the siren casing itself?

Also does anyone know where I can get the battery from?

From the guide.... "Unfortunately direct replacements backup batteries don't seem to be available anymore but you can replace it with any rechargeable battery of the correct voltage and dimensions"

Yes, the battery is in the siren, as per the attached picture.

You'll have to do your own sourcing from eBay or a battery specialists like these...

Weirdly, the alarm has started chirping again, out of nowhere, guess it's got a charge from somewhere?

Funny you should say that! Lol

Tbh the chirping was a bit annoying every time I lock unlock it, prefer it to be quiet, obviously no alarm is the downside though:/
