Hi, this is problem no.2 of a few electrical issues I have with this car. Only recently having bought it, at the time I was advised that the rear doors did not lock. They dont......if I push the buttons down they wont lock. My central locking wont work and i have to lock the front doors individually by the key.I dont have a remote key for the car though. There really not much point locking the front though with the back doors not locking. Im sure you can see what im gettng at.
Anyway, I took the door cards off and found that on the near side rear door, someone had deliberately cut the wire to the lock solenoid. I joined it back together and it still does nothing. Taking out my glove box I could see that someone had removed an alarm system, wires spliced together looking like my daughter had done it. Beside that they were all colour linked so not really an issue. I have no idea where to begin? How do I test my central locking to try and identify the fault?

    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks in advance,

    Lee.

Thanks for the link, I will have a look at the wires going to the boot. Only real difference between the problem reported in his post is that his central locking still does the front where as none of mine works.
Thanks again tho' I will have a look.

Have a good read through the above thread, I discovered that there was no relays apart from the one under the bonnet that served the central locking the control module is located behind the glovebox.

since you have the door cards off your better testing for power to the actuators first before anything else, as gildersol said to me. It is normally the actuators that cause the problem.
