    Hi,
    y
I am removing an engine, retaining minimal wiring, to then use in a special.

Most wires gone, all exposed and easily accessible.

Is it feasible to remove the coded security collar around the ignition lock, its small `box` located under the dash and the larger security/ engine code box located under the passenger dash ? I guess some must have done that to simplify getting a replacement coded ignition key.

Second question - is the pump coded to the ignition key ?

For working security driveaway protection without reprogramming you'll need

    1 DME
    2 EWS2 module
    3 antenna ring+interface
    3 key with chip

    all from one car.

Ther pump can replaced without any coding

thanks, I understand these are necesssary if transfering the ecu etc to another vehicle. What I also want to understand is if it is possible without too much problems to bypass or remove the EWS system completely, and the chip in the key. i.e. remove the security system. ??

It's possible but not an easy job to bypass the EWS-2 protection chip.
You need to reprogram the DME it's all on the net; use Google
