    i fitted a hid kit today to my e36 now ive read that the kits dont come up with a obc error on the e36 its usally the e46+.well mines thrown up a low beam fault the lights work great and im very happy with them dont really want to send them back as they were a bargain is there a way to get rid of this code or shall i just ignore the obc code and enjoying driving as there is not a actual fault

    Mods: CCFL kit, 8000k HID kit,Delensed, Tinted indicators, Smoked side repeaters, Red/White rears, 17" BBS RC 041 split rims black with silver lip, Medium smoke rear tints, E46 boot lip spoiler, Debadged rear, Hottuning coilovers dropped 62mm on the front and 102mm on the rear, K&N Induction Kit, Scorpion Cat-Back,Full De-Cat, Sony GT929U headunit, Two 12" JBL subwoofers in custom tubes,Alpine amp, Led interior bulbs.
    To do: Refurb alloys, Get Black and White BMW badges

    Two ways. Either use a resistor or snip a wire to the check control module (or snip and then fit a spade connector so you can put it back to standard at a later date).

    thank mate im not doing any damage am i leaving it on as i can put up with the obc message displayed just want to make sure im not doing any damage as i dont really want to start snipping wires etc when i come to sell the car i will probably takee the hids off anyway so the error code wont be there when it comes time to sell

    my scangauge can clear those sort of codes through the obd port

    You sure on that? The check control module is simply checking the circuit and the HIDS are running at a different voltage than the standard bulbs.

    it seems the the error code only comes up sometimes just got back in and it didnt show up hmm
