    You can't tighten the belt. It's a mechanical tensioner. If it's loose I would suggest changing the belt and tensioiner. And the idler pulley which is probably what's squeaking.

    changed the belt in about 5 mins easy job the other one wass real bad way and now no sqeaks and after a jump from a pal it starts back up now but belt slip wass real bad i got underneath and got the bottom pulley and could turn it round with my hand so im guessing it was that over a perod of time causiing my battery 2 die
