    Hi peeps,

I'm new to this forum and the world of BMW's. I bought an E36 318is 1996 last week. One thing i keep seeing and reading about is the that some of these E36's came with Hella headlamps. What exactly are these and were they on the M3's or something. Also are they a straight swap for the standard units????

    Thanks for reading!

im sure most just come with bosh headlamps and yes providing that you buy the right ones to match your body shape it is a straight swap. i went and bought myself some xeon lights, really easy to fit you only have to drill 2 holes and they look awsome.

    Hi Daztoon,
With my 318is i decided to get the Hella angel eye headlights. At that time they cost me £350. I was never happy with them as i thought the rings were too small and due to the lights still being H1 the colours didnt look great. WHen i say this i mean the headlights gave off the "yellow" look whilst the rings were quite blue. As for the xenon lights well thats up to you. As said above its a diy job but it is technically ilegal due to you not having self leveling lights with washer jets.
I have seen some nice angel eyes out there and they all seem to come from ebay. I have decided this time with my 323i that i will keep the headlights standard. I have just ordered these in the hope it helps. If it does i reckon i'll fit them all round ie. dipped, main and fogs.
