I did wiggle the wires about today but it didnt seem to make any difference so maybe it was just a one off but today i basically stripped the bootlid down and took the whole loom out of the boot and checked everything and then cut the wires one by one and soldered everything back together and used heat shrink etc and done it the proper way, lol

Somewhere a permanent live is feeding into the lighting / indicator circuit. Remove and replace one fuse at a time, whichever fuse switches the lights off could have the problem circuit/device. Then it's just a case of checking all the components and wiring on that circuit.

    just a quick update.....

ive been out in the garage today doing a couple of things on the car as i wanted to get on with some other bits aswell (like getting the meguiars polisher out, lol)
and in the mean time i spoke to 2 different people and they have both given me pretty much the same answer's to the alarm problem which are its either a faulty alarm module or a broken cable somewhere within the alarm wiring

oh and typically its all working fine again today, lol

i think its time to have a new alarm fitted !
