    hi dose any one know how to fix. my central locking is not working i can unlock the doors and the boot with the keys so far i have checked but with no joy also when the door opens the interior light dosent come on but it does work when used by hand

    checked and replaced the central locking box behind the glove box gm4
    checked both micro switchs in the door locks both good
    checked rear boot rubber for any split wires all good
    checked boot and bonet buttons
    checked fuses in the fuse bay all good

    as you can see my problem dont know what to try next

    I take it you have an alarm installed?

    if you have its probably a faulty alarm box / blown fuse (in alarm wiring) / naff remote

    it has an alarm on it but its the standard bmw alarm it does work but still the central locking is not working

    Check if the passenger front and rear footwells are damp. The central locking earths under the carpet in several places and the connections corrode.

    checked them they are all earthed passenger footwell and all perfect no corrosion

    Have you had the panel off the drivers door? The drivers door lock solenoid is the "master" so any broken or corroded wires will affect all the central locking.

    had that off aswell all good inside the lock barrel and the micro switch on the barrel
