    Don't suppose you have the wiring in for the auto dim mirror do you??
    cant remember the colours now but you have 3 wires ,one is an earth so earth it , i assume its black, one is a live which i wired in to the eletric sunroof live the third switches the mirror off and is supposed to be connected to your reverse switch, i wired this to the interior light so when you switch it on the mirror switches off, i found this much prefreble and easier to do, again assuming the earth has a lot of black in it earth the mirror and touch either of the other 2 wires on your interior light with your finger over the front light sensor,(not the one on the mirror side) the wire that the mirror dims on wire into your sunroof or interior light live, wire the other into your reverse light switch or the interior light switch but not the constant live side like before, but the switched live so when the light comes on the mirror goes off, hope this helps sorry its so vague but its been nearly 5 years since i done this

    heres a photo of mine, the brown/orange is an earth the 2 you can see are the live and cut out, if you put it in like this the mirror will work untill you switch the interior light on, much handier than the reverse option

    You sir, are a star

    I'd read that the blue/yellow was for the reverse cutout, but i din't fancy routing a cable down there, your way is much easier

    I think i'll have a go at that tomorrow

    Right, i've had a stab at the interior light, using diagrams/pics supplied by Steve, i pre wired the interior light before i tried it in the car.... plugged it in.... didn't work

    I've had the multi meter out and i think i've got a dodgy door switch, there isn't a switched earth on the interior light plug from the door switch

    Anyway, i've gone back to the drawing board, i've had the light apart and had a bit of a headscratch over the wiring diagrams in the Bentley manual and i have come up with the following conclusions:

    5 cables going into the light, they should be:

    Brown with Red stripe and Red with White Stripe = Permanant Live
    Purple with White Stripe = Switched live (map lights)
    Brown with Black stripe = Door switch (it looks like a switched earth to me)
    Brown = Earth

    I'm going to have another go tomorrow night so i'll report back with any findings
