Hi All, Im new to the forum and have a 1992 E36 coupe. I have had the car for 18 years from new and had a fault come up 3 times now where the front windows only move up and down 1-2 inches at a time I have replaced the motor on 1 side at the cost of £180.00 and alot of work, with the other side I took it to a BMW specialist. I was not allowed to watch but they fixed the fault in mins. After about six years this fault has come back I took it back to the specialist who said this was a different fault but I knew it was the exact same problem. So I spent a good few hours playing around with the window motor and discovered the way to fix this fault which had I known would have only taken me Mins!! The reason for this post is to try to help others with this fault so they do not go buying new motors as there is no need! (Mine is after all 18 years old).If this is someone with this problem then feel free to contact me and as I have not taken photos it would be good if that person could for others on the forum. Just trying to help
