got to work today and noticed there was some smoke coming inside the car. quickly turned it off and checked was no fires ect and had to leave because had work. came back drove home and everything sempt fine. thought i would inspect the fuses first hoping for something simple. fuse 37 was completely melted! checked the fuse amps and it had a 30 in when should have been a 10 so whoever had car before has done it. decided to check further and took off bottom of steering panel and took out light switch and to my horror was a load of melted wires. thers not just a couple of wires either theres quite a few. ive traced the loom back to just the other side of the steering wheel and looks ok after that point. should i get a new piece of loom and hope that sorts it or should i get an auto electrician for the piece of mind? obviously its thehigher fuse ampage thats caused it when it should have just blown the fuse if it was the right one. all comments appreciated!
