I might look stupid because this is such a basic question :embarrassed

When I switch off the engine without removing the key, it is impossible to start it again because it is impossible to turn the key in that direction.
I have to pull out the key and reinsert it before I can start again.

Awkward is some situations. I arrive at the railway station to pick up the miss, I cut the engine while listening to the radio. Then before leaving I have to do this key tango :shifty:

Is this the way it should be, and if it is, can it be changed DIY? :hammer :D

Steve,

That is very interesting but I'm still hoping that it won't be necessary.
Or should I conclude from the nature of your answer that my ignition lock is fubar?

I don't want to be stuck someday in the middle of nowhere with the lock not working :eek so it will be replaced.
I'll make an appointment with the dealer for this; I want a spare key as well. They need to read out stuff and they need a copy of my ID before they can proceed :sarcastic
Meanwhile I'll let them readout the airgag codes too...
:$::shifty:

I'll keep updated ;)

In the end the dealer managed to fix the remote control function of the old key buy not the EWS function of the new key :confused
I got myself a spare key without remote control then.
