hi all, merry christmas. hope santa brings you all a sack of bmw goodies!

now the problems, when the car has been run for long enough for it to warm up the temp guage sits just above the cold bit and will rise to th quarter in traffic. ther is no sign of head trouble no pressure in system or gack in oil/water. also car has slight missfire around 2000/2500 rpm usually when car is warming up ie. not cold or at running temp.

    thanks in advance all.

    merry christmas!

My thoughts are that you have a thermostat which is stuck in the open position. When open, the water flows freely from the block to the radiator and back - never gets chance to warm up. I have same car and by time have driven a mile, temp needle sits at half way and never moves at all.

Probably need to have the codes read to se if there's any faults stored on the ECU but in the meantime you could have a look for any splits or leaks on the air intakes
    Glad the thermostat is sorted
