    Hi all im new to the bmw world so if any one could help me out that would be great. im having a problem with the anti theft in my 95 e36 318is coupe it only lets me start the car some times so i wanted to disable this if its possable and install a new after market alarm system i was told some thing about cutting to purple wires and joining the but would like some more info on disabling the ome anti theft system if any one can help me out

    Not sure we have the same systems in the UK as you got in Oz but my guide should help you understand about how the built-in immobiliser works....

    Thanks heaps ill have a read and see if its any thing like we have in hear. id like to just take the hole ome theft system out or disconnect it and fit a after market alarm thanks again for ur time hopefully i can drive my car again and not have to worry about will it start or not

    The anti-theft systems on E36s shouldn't involve any splicing. The immobiliser works on the "double lock" signal (See guide) and alarms just mimic that signal.

    Im still having trouble getting getting my car to start i read somewhere that there is an auxiliary fuse box with a relay for the anti theft system but i can not find it only fuse box i see is in the engine bay on the left hand side near the strut tower but im not sure if there is a relay or fuse for the anti theft system is in there

    If I recall its kind of stuck on the edge ofthe main fuse/relay box

    yes i found that fuse/relay box it all seams fine but car still wont start do the keys or the ring on the ignition switch ring play up much? thanks for all ur help so far
