Hi guys, first post so sorry its a help request, I bought a cheap 1995 318i coupe before xmas and its windows all worked fine, did the slight drop thing on opening etc but after a few weeks packed up completley, no slight drop either but both are in the up position thankfully!

anyway I trawled the forum and after checking the fuse which was ok decided it would be the zke module and purchased another from ebay, but alas this hasnt sorted it and neither work still .... any other ideas? or am I going to have to give in and take it to a autosparky?

cheers in advance for any help

    Marc

Yeah I did see about them but both plungers (for want of a better word) seem to go in and out ok and dont appear worn. Seems odd they would both stop working at the same time aswell? which kind of lead me away from them.

Has the battery been flat since you've had the car?

No mate it hasnt. I did think it was maybe worth a try disconnecting it in the hope it'd reset something but surely replacing the zke unit would do that.

You've got nothing to lose by trying the window reset procedure. Get in, close both doors and switch the ignition on. Put the window fully down, holding the button for 20 seconds. Then put the window up, holding the button for 20 seconds. Now try the door and see if the window drops ok.
