Do you mean the final stage resistor. Is the blower working? Check your fuses. Nos. 20, 23, 31 and 37.

What was the initial problem you were having, and what did you replace. Was the unit intermittently turning off?

no the first problem was that the blowers was not working at the time the heater for the rear window was working and all the direcenal controls for the heater was working i.e face and feet etc. i was told buy another bmw guy that it was a consister or somthing like that on the circit bord its self so i put a new 1 in and still didnt fix the problem and i did also have control oif the air con pump. but now nothing lights up and the air con pump is constently engaged

So the only thing that wasn't working was the blower? It may be that what you needed was a final stage unit. The symptoms you have now are more consistant with a capacitor fault in the control unit. Is that what you're thinking of as I don't know what a consister is (may have been a resistor on the board??)?

If it was a capacitor or resistor you changed, you may need to check your work if it has now caused the unit to stop working.
Have a look here and see if this is what you done http://www.macadamizer.com/bmwfix.html
