I'm looking into door-popping kits, and have found this website selling them. I'm not entirely sure about it, tbh; so looking for opinions.

I really like the idea of having it, and would love to be able to 'shave' my door handles off.

Ideally, I'd have it working all 4 doors and the boot on my Saloon from a remote; but would I have to get a bigger car battery?

If I'd have to put external buttons on the car, where exactly would I wire them to?

Also, are there any known faults with these? Solutions to the faults?

I keep seeing the words "Doors accidentally opening!" - And that is just a scary, scary, scary thought in my opinion.

Had anyone had this done to their car?

I will be looking into something similar soon. I only want to remove the boot lock though...

I've done it to plenty of cars before but its a pain to get into if the battery ever dies, you'll be having to jack up the front end to try and open the bonnet.

I don't think it'll suit a beemer though to be honest. I had it done to my 2001 pug and then on my 1997 polo and again on my 2003 corsa, but these cars had body kits fitted to them etc so it went with the clean lines

I had my inside door handles removed aswell as I couldn't get the lock mechanism to work so I was always popping the doors even from the inside lol. The button on my pug was fitted flush under the mirrors (m3 type) and looked pretty good plus the added advantage of having no door locks so theifs can't get it.

Just to let everyone know, I've gone completely off this idea.

I had a mate whos corsa b had these. Good idea in theory, but SoB if your battery dies. Cant see how the door would accidently open though. Also you had bad wiring.

Why the change of heart Lamper?

You explained a reason right there; a friend had them on a... CORSA!

It's a pretty chavtastic mod for BMW doors. De-Locked boots are fine, but IMO door-popping the rest of it is almost as bad as lambo doors. Popping lambo doors would be the ultimate FAIL!
