    ok wiring back as it was and back to the thing just not working.
    Just wanted to ask if theres any way of resetting it without spending a fortune on equipment? say the off - on routine? or is that key fobs only?

    With it back to the way it was, now it needs the faults reading to find out what the problem actually is.

    trying to find this so called car soft but so far nothing,
    Most of what ive come across is obdII...

    Ok no fault codes found.
    A friend down the road brought his laptop round and tried 3 times to find nothing... he reset my airbag light though.
    So anybody need any spares from a 1995 compact? M43B16 engine

    Before i do strip it down for parts does anybody know if i can put a non ews Dme in there?
    if so what am i looking for? not sure they had the M43B16 in pre 95... did they?

    is it possible to convert the m43 to bike carb's? that would be a cool project.

    The M43 is listed at being used from 91-2002, so it did at some stage run without EWS.

    You could convert is it bike throttle bodies i suppose. It'd need a bit of technical knowhow though.
