    Hi there,

As per the description: Fuses all ok. Rear lifters work ok. When opening doors, glass does'nt drop to clear convertible top. Alarm flashes hazards constantly but not sounding.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks, Mike

No idea about the alarm stuff, so if that is a separate issue, when windows don't drop open door and push the switch in the door lock striker plate on the B pillar and you may see window jump up and down, if so the switch is worn. if it doesn't move at all it can still be the switch

This is covered many times already search is your friend

You have micro switches in each door. They operate the door touch drop down when you pull the door open or closing the door and it go,s up..

You also have a window motor in the door and a control box behind the glove box BUT my inclin would be the micro switches, there not lots of money so it's worth replacing all 3 at the same time

You can get them from BMW Or eBay just search e36 micro switches

You should read my post above for the micros switches that control the windows location as this is wrong. There are micro switches in the doors for other reasons.
