    Seeing as you live in Preston try contacting Ribblesdale auto electrics, think they are on Marsh lane but they have 2 depots. You dont really need the air duct on the back.

    i went to them and gave them the code of the back of old one and got the exact one with air duct on it. the place was called west lancs and refurb starters and alternators i recommend i shopped around and founds these guys cheapest at 115 quid . national tyres 189 quid andrew page 180 quid but had to order . bmw 489 quid lol so iwent for cheapest of course and they also had a few in stock , in the morning i cant wait to rip it out ive been driving it for a while its very loud lol. cant waiit to hear my v6 rumbble again lol i have some pics to put on replacing it will take some more tommoro and post them step by step how i removed old one and put new one in .

    Lets hope it is your alternator and not one of your guide pulleys.

    now then did the alternator this morning and it was the alternator it was well worn out . i fitted the other bottom bolt of alternator was really hard work to get to and open but i never give up just ended up with bad back lol but its all done nice and tight all lined up good job and pat on the back for me was first time lol its great now really quiet
