Ok cheers buddy I was going to spend tomorrow taking all the lights and stuff out as I thought it might be a dodgy earth but I will hold fire incase it is something like the stalk. Don't suppose u know if it's easy to change it?

Might be a bad earth in the lights, take the covers off and make sure everything is connected.

Also make sure indicator bulbs are of working order.

What in the actual light? Yes all the indicators work. It only does it if the lights are on not when they are off I forgot to mention that

I know on other makes of cars like Vauxhall's your problem is caused by a broken indicator stalk as both indicators and main beam work of the stalk.

As for changing the stalk that's one job i haven't done yet, but i would imagine it's just a case of removing the cowling behind the steering unclipping the electrical connection and then unclipping the stalk.

Yeah shouldn't be to hard to do. Is there anyway of telling if it is the stalk when I remove it? And why does it do it only when headlights are on? Cheers mate

because when the headlights are off you would'nt notice it your best bet is get to a local srappy and rip one out there and try it,does sound like ind stalk

Right I've just been and checked and it definitely doesn't do it with the lights off or when the hazards are on only when I indicate with dipped headlights on. So is it more likely to be indicator stalk? Thanks

Go to the scrap yard and get a indicator stalk and find out
