My window decided it was gonna stop working a few days back, i've had everything off and apart, cleaned it all up, put it back together and all seemed well. For a short time anyway.

After playing with the switch about 20 times to test it the same thing happened, a horrible crunching sound like the motor gear is grinding against the regulator gear. I took the motor off again, and removed it from the little black casing, plugged it in and even with no resistance sometimes when i press up it just decides to stop ? the motor itself seems a little noisy so i take it it's on the way out ?

In regards to finding a replacement does it HAVE to be off a coupe of the same age ? or will any other ones fit ? Also do you think i'm better off buying the motor and regulator just incase my regulator is bust in some way ?

Does sound like the motor is on its last legs for sure. Do the regulator teeth look worn? If so then yes get a regulator as well.
