Good evening everyone, new member here desperately seeking help!
I have a 94 e36 316i compact. My battery keeps going flat and struggles to start the engine. If i charge the battery it will be ok for maybe 2 weeks then the problem rears its ugly head again!
The alternator is charging (around 14.5 volts) and the battery seems to be around 12-12.5 volts whenever i check it whilst engine not running so im thinking its either battery not holding charge, a bad earth between engine chassis or the dreaded drain somewhere!!
I have checked the basics (bootlight, glovebox light etc) and all seems ok
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for reading and sorry to join the forum and ask for help straight away!

Have a search for 'parasitic battery drain' !

Have you had the battery tested ?

have you checked to see if anything is staying on boot light for example and would be worth checking the tailgate connections as they break where it leaves body into tailgate common fault
