Hi folks, when I bought this car It only had the master key and no fob. Today ive learned that it may have keyless entry as there is a 3t siren in the engine bay. However I cant find the module for it anywhere, I have looked under the glove box and back seat but nothing. There is a large white connector under the back seat with two smaller ones marked T and R. Does anybody know whre the module might be found and could maybe confirm it might not even be installed?

That is the plug for the missing module. You might pick one up on eBay but make sure it has working fobs.

Thanks Billy, you certainly know your stuff! I did read your write up several times before posting and just wanted confirmation that the module was awol.

Do you know of any after market module that would plug and play? Ive seen some avavilable in the states but not sure if they would be compatible and after the cost of shipping even realisitic!

    Thanks again.

There are no plug & play alarm options for the euro spec E36. The US version was pre-wired for an Alpine alarm that you'd still have to hard wire to your UK car if you bought one.

The only plug & play option you have is a secondhand 3T module, else you'll need to have another system fitted.

E36? This is a euro spec E34 but Anyhow, I think I will wire in a new system as you say. I could do with finding a diagram that shows whats available at that 18 pin block under the rear seat as would save alot of hassle and head scratching. Would you know where I might find such info???

    Yes, sorry E34!

To my knowledge no-one has a copy of the 3T wiring diagram. All the wires are black and on installation they have removable tags.

You'll find a wiring diagram for your car here so if you tace the alarm wires back you should be able to figure out what goes where...
