A amp is a amp whether its in a HU or a standalone amp, as long as you have speakers that can take the output power of the amp then there is no problem.

who told u that lol?? you always amp speakers! good speakers are designed for them!, with cross overs and tweeter of course! (fronts)

all top installs every1 speaker is usually amped!. are both rcas plugged in? also check all fuses (blade fuse in amp) if al is working ok and light is indicated on amp to say power is there. you have 2 solutions!

    1. swop the rca s on the back of the cd player to another side on the output. if still no luck

    2. the amp is fryed!!!

well the only reason i am putting an amp in is the speakers at rear have been put in by previous owner and they are called vibe they only just fit in the hole to be honest and the magnet on the back is big they do look powerfull but my head unit not brilliant if i turn up too much bass the speakers distort a bit especially the factory front ones . ive only connected the rears at min to the amp. its a 200w amp its only a small one and it fits inside my ski bag hole in that compartment. i think i will get the yellow phono lead connected up see how it goes. i just want more bass as its tinny . if all fails will put a shallow sub in .

If I read right then you've not connected this part up right. You need the cables to go to the amp and then from the amp to the speakers. If your HU has a RCA output then good to connect and RCA cable from the HU to the amp and then speaker cables from the amp to the speakers.

If as I read what you wrote that you have connected the amp to the cables running to the speakers then you'll experience what you are saying-No difference

so what your saying if i just connect the white and red lead at the back of hu and to the amp it should work. i put the speaker wires in the amp and then just hooked up the other ends to the exsisting wires at the back of the speakes sort of just joined the wires that are already on the speakers. god i used to be good at this stuff once

I would disconnect the speaker wires on the speakers and run new ones from the amp to the speakers and as you said-run an RCA from the HU to the amp...Should sort it all out as long as you have the live, earth and remote connected to your amp properly too.

now then update. i have bought an rca cable. here is what the set up is now.

    the amp has power
    the remote is all fine
the exsisting speaker wires (rear) discconected
new speaker wires from amp to rear speakers all connected
earth cable connected to neg battery.

right when i turn the stereo on split second from speakers then they cut out stereo not loud either.

the light on the amp is green for power and there is a light next to it in red saying protection . now i asume the earth is wrong am using a green/yellow stripe earth cable only about 4 or 5 mm thick ive cheked all wiring all is ok it dont seem to like the earth ?
