hi there i have a problem fitting my amp. here is what i want to do . my speakers are bit tin can job but the rear have been upgraded to a vibe speakers look quite powerfull i want to just make the rear speakers bit more ummpphh so today i bought a second hand amp 200watts and here is what i did.

ive joined some speaker wires to the rear speaker wires and then put them into the amp. ive connected a remote from the stereo and thats fine . got power on thats fine , its the ground cable. i never had one so used some earth wire but when i connect it to say a bolt at the back or something i think will be a good earth the music goes off ive not had any sound difference yet. not too good setting this up hope someone can shed some light where to put this ground cable .bare in mind its a convertible

Pics of the amp would help and for future reference [if ive read your post right] Make sure everything is switched off and even disconnect the battery before you start installing things

The yellow lead will be the phono cable from the output of the head unit to the input of the amplifier. This is what sends the sound to the amp mate...

Ive always been led to believe using an outside amp if that makes sense and just let the stereo do it's job and leave the amp for the sub
