    Hiya,

Im hoping someone might be able to help if possible. Basically none of my dials on the instrument cluster are working. I called out RAC cos thought it might be just a loose fuse or something but they said I need a new instrument cluster. They didnt remove it or anything to check any loose connections or anything. I was going to buy one staight away but I would like advice as to whether there is a reason they just pack up and what I could check first. I phoned the local BMW garage and they wanted to charge £90.00 before they even looked at it! I know I could pick one up on ebay but it seems daft if I could get this one working again. Any ideas?
    I would appreciate any advice.
    Thanks, Mel

Well you could check the cluster by undoing the 2 screws at the top of it and pulling it out then making sure all the connectors are plugged in properly-the are three that plug into the back of it and you can check the fuses too but most probably you are going to need a new one-So as you said I would go for one on Ebay and just plug it in myself if I were you-its easy and cheap enough and you can't really go wrong as there are only three connectors to plug in

Thanks for that. I will have a look at it first then. I got out bid on ebay by 50p! so will get back on there.
    Thanks again, Mel
