I have replaced the drivers side window motor and lift assy, at first it worked intermittently (both windows) and later cut out all together. I understand that the ECU may need to be re booted as the "system" has be broken into, any advice out there would be most welcome. M

Have all your windows stopped working? Do you have a sunroof?

Assuming you haven't jammed anything mechanically, check the comfort relay see here http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...r-guide-t3665/

Do you have an automatic cut out switch fitted on the dash below the steering wheel? Maybe needs reset.

Unfortunately I can't fix them in that thread at present, I'd have to get quite deep into a closed section of the forum and it would be time consuming at present.

I will try and post them up though in here.

I now have windows that work , a dry joint was indeed the problem and a running repair did the job , all sorted.
    Thanks again.
