Hi all, really need some help, the orginal stereo wasn't working so I bought a new cd player to put in, wired it in this morning, it worked for about 5 mins and then started flicking on and off along with the dashboard lights then went dead, now the central locking won't work, the immobiliser and alarm won't deactivate so the car won't start, everytime i open a door, bonnet, turn key in ignition e.t.c the alarm goes off, i unwired the cd player and it's still the same, I also checked all the fuses in the box under the bonnet [passenger side] which are all fine, is there any other fuse boxes? or an easy way to reset it?, the alarm is under the bonnet and has a keyhole to switch on/off but i dont have a key for it, also i don't have a key fob, i have a plug type thing that goes in to a little metal pin socket above the ignition key hole, which deactivates the immobiliser, until this problem today, thanks.

I doubt it, as all the dash lights are still bright, and the headlights, interior lights e.t.c, thanks.

Check here if you have a BMW alarm system...

Very early E36s like yours don't have a factory immobiliser system, the guide will explain.
