I thought I fixed my central locking problems by fixing all the broken wires in the boot but its started playing up again, when I lock it imediatly unlocks again. I've been told it could be a door actuator so I've tested them all and worked out by elimination must be drivers door, wondering could I swap out the driver door actuator for the rear door or boot one? Also my interior light won't go out when I shut drivers door?

Nope, that'll be the microswitch thats playing up, the fact the light is still on means the c/l thinks the door is still open
On later models I know that switch is in the door striker but I have a feeling its incorporated in the lock mechanism on early models.
Im sure someone will be along soon to confirm.

If it's not too late, these microswitches cost pence from places like Maplin, Farnell, RS etc. and are pretty much standard. I have swapped out several over the years and it's always been easy. Rather a new one than unknown.
    Just a thought, Mike
