Any problems with the electric windows? It could be the comfort relay. If you do a search on the site for 'comfort relay' you will get more info.

This may help. You don't have to repair it, you could just try a replacement; http://www.bimmerforums.co.uk/forum/...r-guide-t3665/

Otherwise it could well be the roof cables(bowden cables), see here number 3 http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...75&hg=54&fg=05

Can the roof be opened manually using a Allen key carefully? as shown in number 10 in link above.

The Allen key is supplied in the BMW tool kit

Sounds like something is stopping it from moving rather than electrical

Opening manually will confirm this. If you try it and it seems to stick then don't force it as you may damage it. Post your progress up here once you have checked it out.

I can always check mine Sunday to see how easy it moves manually as I know mine opens and closes.

Okay so i went out today and tried to open it manually and i get the same result, does about an 8th of a turn them stops. Me and my Dad are taking her in soon for re-spray, ECU chip and gonna get rid of the chrome around the grills so we will take it apart and have a proper look then. Cheers for the help guys
