    The tail lights have no braking voltage but the rear screen lights well , any suggestions appreciated , loose plug maybe ?

    Do you mean the high level light works OK? The power to all the brake lights comes along the same wire so you need to trace it back to where the wire splits for the high level light.

    Earth point I think is under back seat
    Also check the wiring that passes from car body to boot isn't broken under the rubber sheath as I think the brake light wiring is spliced before they get to the boot

    Yes the high light is fine , I was hoping there was just a plug and not some sort of splice/solder joint

    Rubber sheath ?
    looks like I am going to learn more about this car than I wanted ,trouble with older cars is they are old
    Ok any hints as to how or is it remove the rear seat and it's obvious ?
