    Hi guys, Awesome forum

Ive got .. as it says a 1991 e36 318 which i use for my uni drivin to save mileage on my other car. The electric windows have stopped working and the backlight behind the heater dials and headlight switches do not function. Any ideas why this would be and whether they are linked at all?

    Cheers

    Mark

Thanks Yeh i have checked all the fuses. I only have front electric windows which seem to lead back to an orange control box behind the glovebox.. like a relay. I have swapped it for another one but there is no change .. So im a bit confuzzled.. lol.

On your year of car the windows are controlled by a 'comfort relay' which can cause problems with the windows and sunroof (if you have one). Don't think there's a link to the backlights though.

Have you checked voltage presence at the switch and relay? You could be purchasing a part you dont need, but then you could be purchasing a part you require.
