Help please, my E30 325i is driving me mad, it runs ok but very rich and lumpy, i think its got the pre-facelift high compression engine fitted. The car left the BMW factory as a 316 and has been converted at some stage. (M20) The motor has the cooling pipes to the left of the rad, one pipe from the water pump and 3 pipes from the thermostat housing, also the crank speed sensor is located on the right hand side of the pulley. What ECU / DME should be fitted to this motor? it currently has a Bosch 0261200173, this i belive is for the face lift (post 88) model and is not compatible with the pre-face lift.
If i had hair i would have ripped it out by now.
    Thanks
    Phil A
