    I know your pcb won't look like this but in a AA battery pack one end would be like this where the metal joins from one battery to another.
    Soz, i see what you mean.

    On the face of the board theres no metal connecting the 2 batteries. On the flip side of the board i cant see any printed circuit connecting them....

    Hope i havent fried the bloody board

    See if you can take a couple of clearer ones. One at the top of the board showing the battery connections, and another of the bottom of the board showing the underside of the battery connections.

    Well i decided to play safe and just replace the batts instead of the batt pack outside the cluster. After a bit of tinkering its all working as it should:
