    Hi people,

    I recently bought my E46, a 2000 328i SE.

I've had load of problems, but I don't want to bore you all with that here.

The most annoying problem at the moment is that when I brake I get quite a lot of vibration through the steering.

I swapped out the disks for new OEM ones and the pads for Bosch ones too. All better, no vibration. For about 1000 miles, when it came back and is slowly getting worse and worse.

Are the brakes renound for being crap?

    Thanks,

    JP

i am saying that there may be an issue causing your new discs to warp, and that thread covers the main issue...it also says that rossini discs are better than oe if you've experienced warping issues.
our cars are quite heavy, and can run at serious speeds...theres a lot of heat being made in the braking dept under heavy loadings,so any advice given should be food for thought

well the main cause is sitting at traffic lights using the footbrake not the handbrake...the other cause i can think of is not cleaning the hubs thoroughly before fitting new discs.

Spot on Mark . I never heard of BMW fitting Bosch brake pads. Try Textar or Jurid.

sounds like you're driving it all wrong..whats all this hard braking malarky? Change down a gear, flick into the corner and boot it.

    no brakes, no problem.
