Are you sure its coming from the brakes? Does it get worse on tighter turns/full lock turns?

try holding the brake on a touch whilst on full lock and slowly come out of full lock to see if there is a change in noise, if so do it again but without the brakes on, if the noise changes or goes away its your brakes, if not its just rubbing somewhere, might also pay to get someone to have a listen whilst you turn on full lock to try and get a better idea of what the sound is
as you suspect its the brakes i advise you do a couple of brake tests to make sure they are functioning properly, find a long open road(trading estates are perfect) and do a couple of brake tests, if they fail then atleast its in a safe enviroment and not in a real world situation
