Hi, I'm considering purchasing one of these items from Bimmertune also, seems a good deal if it bolts up as expected and works well!

Any updates on getting it fitted yet?

Do you know if anybody else in the UK has ever bought and fitted one of these yet?

Had the LSD and all subframe bushes renewed (FINALLY) late august. All seems well, except since having it done i get a slight click from the rear as i pull away and then come off the gas, more noticeable at lower speeds. I'm going to have it checked, but suspect it either the CV joint, the rear diff bush hasn't been seated correctly or its failed prematurely (it was replaced with a poly bush from Problem Solving Bushs or similar), or if the drive shaft was removed for the install it may have taken a knock and been bent slightly.

With DSC on it will never be used, the question is how will the ABS / DSC interpret it if it is not deigned for it?
In the E36 range no car fitted with TC ever got a LSD and no car factory fitted with a LSD came with traction. Only the M3 got it in the E46 and with DSC on it may as well not be there.

Interesting thoughts, it could just be placebo, but some time after fitting, on a v.quiet day when it was fair lashing it down, on a large roundabout (elephant & castle), with the DSC on I thought I would give the throttle a bit of provocation. I got a reasonable slip angle without engaging the DSC in the context that the DSC can flash on over potholes and drain covers in the wet! Other than that no difference noted I'm everyday driving, the final ratio is slightly shorter but not enough for me to notice any difference in acceleration.

I bought it also cause it should make the car more drivable in snow when I'm in Scotland, 2 decent rear tyres can cost 400 and last 10k, so the ~650 or so I paid seemed worth it...... Or at least that's what I tell myself

DSC usually cuts in before the amount of slip required for a 25% diff, but interesting none the less. In one respect I can see how it would account fro what you describe, on another I know the DSC in the M3 makes the car lifeless. Most second hand m3 diffs must be like new. However , DSC does turn off and if you read the E46 hand book you may find it mentions turning it off to start off in snow (because if you maintain traction but need some slip to get moving you go nowhere of course) However, RTM.
