I had news discs and pads fitted to the front of my car on Friday, they are rusted and making a rubbing noise, I'm going to take it back to the garage on Monday, but does anyone have any thoughts on my situation?
    Thanks

What do you mean, are the Discs Rusty, if this is the case, where did you get them from, I have had such discs before, and if they were the chepy ones, they rust up very quickly due to the metal having no anti rust chemical added to the discs after machining.

If it is not the discs and pads, it could be the calipers, do they need replacing or refurbing, recently I had to do the calipers on mine, the last person who had the car never bothered looking after it, so the caliper bolts were all seized up, the discs were growing rust and the pads were touching disc with nout left on them, I ordered mine from a mintex out source, cost £109.00 for drilled and grooved and pads, all coated with anti rust.
You can take the car back to garage, but i am sure if it is a decent garage, that they wouldn't have fecked up doing brakes, it is one of the basic jobs.
Hope you get things sorted out and hope it doesn't turn out to be a costly job.

If you've washed the car at the weekend, they will get surface rust almost instantly, within a couple of hours you'll see rust marks where the drops of water have splashed onto it but that is normal, and should disappear almost instantly when you drive it.

If there is still visible rust then it might be that the discs were old and not stored correctly and missing the light misting of oil to protect them mentioned above.

Bedding in the discs should also quieten them down.

Hi, the discs are just a bit rusty, a friend of mine says that happens when you wash the car, as you guys mentioned, so I'm happy now that Thayer are new discs, but imnot happy about the rubbing noise, I'm going to take it back on Wednesday and ask them to have another look!

Does the rubbing sound come on as soon as you move and is constant for more than 2 miles? If the rubbing sound goes after say, 1 mile, then are silent, then it's just the surface rust getting taken off buy the brake pads.
