hi! ive got an e36 318is coupe that i want to lower.. how much can i drop it by with 225/40/18 tyres.looked at some of the springs on ebay and theres only a few sellers listings that say that the 60mm spring kit will drop the "is" by 40mm,are they the springs i should go for? will the tyres rub? thanks for any help!!

all depends on the offset of the wheel. i had 18" et35 8.5j 225/40/18 on my car and they rubbed slightly with a full car, that was also with mine lowered (dont ask me how low i dont know :P)
your best bet is to get some coilovers so you can adjust the height so it sits right.
